Make-A-Wish Offers Holiday Giving Program

Dear Friend of Make-A-Wish,

“Hope, Strength and Joy” are the magical elements that a wish fulfilled brings to a seriously ill child. It is a special kind of magic that you and your associates can create this holiday season.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Suffolk County is asking for your support as we continue our mission of granting wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions.

Our Holiday Giving Program offers a unique way for you to honor your clients, vendors or associates and help sponsor a child’s wish as well. It’s easy. You simply make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® in lieu of giving holiday gifts to clients and vendors. We will create a unique, custom note for you to enclose in your company holiday card.

Your donation can help make these wishes come true this holiday season:

  • Riley, age 3, from Lindenhurst, suffers from end stage renal disease. She wishes to go to Disney.
  • Andy, age 10, from Central Islip, suffers from sickel cell. His wish is to go to the Dominican Republic.
  • Robert, age 18, from Bay Shore, has spina bifida and a flesh-eating disease. His wish is to have his car re-furbished.

Please call our office at 631-585-9474 for details. Your generosity will demonstrate the true spirit of giving and create lasting memories for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Suffolk Chapter, which was formed in 1983, has granted over 1500 wishes! We are proud to report that 87 cents of every dollar spent goes directly towards wishes. We are a non-profit organization and rely on the generosity of our local supporters.

Sincerely,

Karine Hollander
President & CEO

Fish Window Cleaning® "Shines on Long Island"

Offers Service to Commercial and Residential Customers

While the rest of the world jokes they don’t “do” windows, one entrepreneur has turned this tedious task into a highly sought after business focusing on high level service for ground level business, retail stores, offices and residences in the $180 million window cleaning industry.

With a growing list of customers nationwide, Fish Window cleaning provides Suffolk County with professional, quality services customized to suit the needs of business, homes and offices up to three stories high.

“Most people think of window cleaning companies as people with squeegees and buckets dangling from high rises 87 stories in the air, but that’s not Fish Window Cleaning®,” said George Fleckenstein, franchisee serving homes and business in Suffolk county.

Fleckenstein said many business owners don’t realize the critical nature of keeping their buildings clean - from interior and exterior windows and doors, to glass counters and mirrors behind bars. “Ultimately, we are in the business of helping our clients attract and retain customers by setting an attractive stage to sell goods and services, improving their bottom line.” added Fleckenstein. “Often customers make decisions to go inside a retail store or restaurant based on the outside appearance of the building. By creating a clean attractive exterior, we can turn casual ‘window shoppers’ into paying customers”

The five-year-old Suffolk franchise is fully insured, has a solid reputation for outstanding service and a solid business foundation. They offer free estimates and customized service plans tailored to each customer’s needs and budget. The full rang of services includes interior and exterior windows of all types, as well as screens, mirrors, chandeliers, ceiling fans, skylights and gutter cleaning.

When you hire a window cleaner, you probably want more than just clean windows. You want timely, reliable service from someone who cares about your satisfaction. With Fish Window Cleaning®, that’s precisely what you’ll get. Their high standards have made them the clear choice nationwide. They offer the most professional and consistent service in the industry to their clients.

The colors of fall are nearly here, and now is the perfect time to enjoy the view through sparkling clean windows.

Gift Certificates are available for friends and family members. Why not consider the unique gift of clean windows for the Holidays! All major credit cards are accepted.

For a free, prompt estimate call 585-0388 or visit www.fishwindowcleaning.com.

Give A Little Thanks To Your Customers

By Janet Attard

With pumpkins grinning at you from retail stores and neighbors' front steps, it's hard to ignore the fact that it's almost Halloween. But all those glowing jack-o-lanterns should remind you of something else, too. It's time to fire up your marketing efforts for the holiday season.

While the holiday shopping season traditionally doesn't start until the day after Thanksgiving, the time to get your marketing materials ready to mail is right now.

One approach to bringing in business after Thanksgiving Day is to send your customers a little Thanksgiving Day "thank you" in the form of a discount coupon, or other special offer.

Sure, you could send a coupon after Thanksgiving, too. But it's more likely to get lost in the pile of fliers and holiday cards your customers will be getting. Send a greeting and special holiday offer just before Thanksgiving, and you'll have a better chance of having your message seen.

What if you aren't a retailer or food establishment? Talk to businesses in your community or industry to see if there's one that sees the value of cross-promotion. Suggest the other business give you coupons (say, buy one dinner get one half-priced) that you can send as a gift to your customers. You do the mailing, they get a relatively inexpensive and easy way to market their business and be recommended to your customers. You win by having a good reason to remind customers and patients that you're available to serve them whenever they need you.
